“Ever-Changing” (2024) is all about the constantly changing environment in Hong Kong, from new high rises to emerging technology. The center figure of the drawing is one of many citizens who have been around long enough to see a number of these changes come to pass. She, like the older building behind her that I’ve chosen to act as a representation, is deliberately more rendered than her surroundings. Though smaller in stature, her wrinkles (like the cracks and pipes on the structure) and amount of detail show a longer lived life with both experience and wisdom. Ever-changing like the world around her.
