Fung Ka Fai is an expressionist artist known for his exploration of symbolism within both classical and contemporary painting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from RMIT and has short-term studied at The Florence Academy of Art. He has a few milestones in art scene, especially he was an invited artist at the 4th NEXT ART TAINAN Awards, he has commissioned works and supported by foundations funding. His works are held in both private and public collections by Cultural Affairs Bureau at Tainan City Government, Hong Kong Art Centre, Wheelock Properties (Hong Kong) Limited, Association Concerning Sexual Violence Against Women (ACSVAW).
Fung Ka Fai was born in colonial Hong Kong, he started some drawing creations from early adolescence, but almost early artworks are lost. In his art career, he was an invited artist at the 4th NEXT ART TAINAN Awards and has commissioned work by public organisations and commercial companies. He was supported by Hong Kong Labour and Welfare Bureau and Pure Art Foundation for a cultural exchange project in INSTINC, Singapore. As an adult, he has lived in the UK, Taiwan, the US, and Canada. As working in visual art, he especially pays attention to classical oil paint techniques and narrative paintings, and also explores new fields in aesthetics. The creation’s elements from classic to contemporary concept, both of the drawing techniques as portrait, landscape, composition, storytelling, those are using into his creation "The Night of Urbanites", expressing the contemporary phenomenon which reflected his experience in the cultural force effective such as the competition of eastern and western cultural forces, or some kind of philosophy issue. All portrayed through the artist's observations of humanity, power, and evolution, vividly depicting the contrasts of joy and sorrow. He is moving towards commercial art and the large-scale creation.
