“Hug me to sleep” has been worked up over a fairly long period of time into a high state of finish with each layer of paint being allow to dry thoroughly before the next one is applied and not all areas appear worked on at the same time. It appears as a touching image of two of the artist’s pillows, one anthropomorphised with the addition of closed eyes, the hint of a nose and a downturned mouth. They are shown in a close embrace and have the bedcovers pulled up tight, and in the background a crescent moon shines in an inky black sky.
Gently with your arms with your dog hugged tight. The painting draws inspiration from Chan's daily life and reflects her personal experiences.
