Here, Maluleke frames travel as epistemology. To know is to walk, to depart, to re-enter with new knowing. The mat becomes a testament to the travelers whose movements continually remake the land and the community.
Embodied in this composition is the truth that paths reveal themselves only through journeying. The undulating energy of the weave suggests footsteps, crossings, and the collective muscle memory of movement—the migratory, the returning, the lost and found.
