There is an element of voyeurism in her work. The drawing “Please close the windows before singing” depicts her view of her neighbour’s windows, seen from her own. In Hong Kong life is lived in close proximity to others. Washing hung up to dry in an open window is both an everyday scene and a motif that speaks to the material and psychological aspects of life in Hong Kong.
