The girl in the centre, presumably the artist herself, is being attacked by other girls who are not only strangling her but taking her body in their mouths. The striking composition cannot be ignored; it is a metaphor for the panic caused by overwhelming external pressures and voices that threaten to overcrowd and suffocate us.
There are too many voices in this world, causing us to overlook our own conditions and feelings. They entangle us like a ferocious flood, suffocating us to the point where we can't breathe.
