Aria Chan's minimalist aesthetic demonstrates technical mastery in the medium of printmaking. Venturing outside the prevailing preferences of the Hong Kong art market, the artist's work could potentially find a niche appeal for home decor applications. Overall, Aria Chan's skilled approach to her craft is noteworthy.
"Home” can refer to a specific place, as well as a person, a cat, a piece of furniture, or even scents and sounds—anything that brings a sense of familiarity and comfort. "Home" is a noun that should always enable us to return, but it is not eternal, and our understanding of it can also change. The artwork uses a pinhole camera to capture the flowing light through long exposures, imprinting it onto the same frame. These images are then transformed into prints, with the intention of preserving comforting scenes and freezing them in the present moment.
