Drawing as an Expansive Act
Kevork Mourad’s work unfolds as a continuous act of drawing. The surface becomes an unstoppable field of movement, where lines, figures, and architectural traces emerge together in a sustained rhythm. This singular approach resonates with horror vacui as a lived impulse: a desire to inhabit space through gesture, accumulation, and presence.
In Traces of Time, each work opens with a strong internal momentum. Every piece carries the energy of a drawing that never feels isolated. Forms appear, overlap, and circulate, guided by a structure shaped by gesture, music, performance, and memory. Time enters the surface and remains visible within it.
This fullness gives Mourad’s work its distinctive coherence. The traces remain active, creating compositions that reveal themselves through both proximity and duration.
