Tony Cheng, a Hong Kong based artist returning after longs hiatus from recuperating from a traffic accident. Born in the United Kingdom in 1981. A student of the Visual Arts from an early age and graduated in BA Fine Art Leeds Metropolitan University. Enthusiastic towards the art scene within Hong Kong had lead to him becoming the creator and co-founder of 'Sai Kung Art And About' and was awarded by the Secretary for Home Affairs, a commendation in 2017 for the promotion of art and culture.
Since returning to his ancestral home, he has been searching for his own styles, taking inspiration from life within Hong Kong for a type of art that matters him the most, exploring and combining different subjects and mediums, trying to express the thought process of someone raised in different cultural backgrounds amidst a city that is renowned for its multiculturalism. In recent years his art has been to re-explore traditional silk-screen print making techniques incorporating it into his linear landscape drawings, using shapes and patterns to create stronger sense of contrast and depth.
