Wang has long been fascinated by animal imagery, particularly rabbits, and includes them in his compositions in unsettling ways creating a juxtaposition of contradictions. He paints beautifully in a muted palette and his work has a gentle contemplative character.
I have always been fascinated by animal imagery and everyday objects that can be found in life. I combine them together, creating a juxtaposition of contradictions. It is also a reflection of hesitation and anxiety in decision-making. The presence of contradictions holds a significant place in my artwork. Although they may appear abrupt at times, they are more real than reality itself. When I immerse myself in a world composed of different creatures, they may seem fictional, cute, and innocent to the viewers. However, for me, they represent a serene reflection of the adult world, which is cold and contemplative, leaving behind traces of what has truly happened. Faced with desires, unfulfilled wishes, losses, and things we want to retrieve, they are scattered throughout the artwork. What kind of choices should be made?
