In “Tangling Stone #2” it appears that Pang begins by making definitive marks on his paper using a large brush. He then scatters characters or parts of characters across the sheet in grey and black. He then fills in the gaps, drawing characters or parts thereof in black and working up to the very edges of the earlier marks. The work ends with a line of characters in red. It may appear abstract but it is an exercise in precision.
