Charlee Cheung

Charlee graduated from the faculty of arts in the University and Hong Kong in 2019, and have pursued a master's degree in fine arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2024.

During 2020-2022, Charlee created a series of artwork, illustrating the old Hong Kong element. She put together overly-crowded details in a single illustration to celebrate the aesthetics from the past period, describing the theme of Nostalgia - the Sentimental yearning of return to or of irrecoverable condition. In 2022, her artwork focuses on illustrating the state of mind as a landscape snapshot, based on a paradoxical expression of "溫暖的孤獨". in 2023, her artworks focus on emotions, which record the traces of Hong Kong's subculture by arranging scattered sentences of graffiti in the form of a poem that can be physically visited. It validate and acknowledge feelings, and triger dialogues and interactions between strangers.
